Free online guitar tuner

This tuner uses your device microphone and the Web Audio API to analyze pitch in real time. When you play a note, the page estimates the fundamental frequency, matches it to the nearest musical pitch, and shows whether you are sharp, flat, or centered.

How to use it

  • Press Start Tuning and allow microphone access.
  • Choose the tuning preset that matches your guitar setup.
  • Play one string at a time and watch the meter move toward center.
  • Stop when the needle centers and the note matches your target.

Standard tuning reference

For standard guitar tuning, the strings from low to high are E2, A2, D3, G3, B3, and E4. Drop D changes the low E to D. Half-step down lowers every string by one semitone. Open tunings change the overall chordal relationship and are popular for slide, blues, and folk styles.

Also included: online metronome

Pair accurate tuning with a clean practice clock. The metronome includes tap tempo, time signatures, and adjustable BPM from 20 to 300.
